How did you first get into surfing?
I was a Blue Crush fan of course ;) I grew up holidaying in Ballito and so have long stared at the waves wanting to be a part of the surf community. Then got the chance to learn in Muizenberg when I lived in Cape Town so dipped a frosty toe in many times and loved it. Since moving back to Ballito full-time over a year ago, my partner (who I met here) started teaching me properly as he is an avid surfer. As I have learned more, the bug has totally bitten, and the warmer water is certainly more inviting for me as well.
Describe what surfing means to you in 3 words:
Humbling, Freedom, Connection
What is your dream surf destination?
Sri Lanka, hopefully soon - hold thumbs for me!
What do you do outside of the water?
Catch my breath haha I teach yoga and run my own business managing communication and content for clients, mostly in the sustainable and NGO sectors who align with my belief system.
Do you prefer a dawny surf or sunset surf?
Definitely a dawny
Longboard or shortboard?
I'm more a shortboard girl I have a 6.4"
What's your favorite post-surf snack?
Hands down the Miacoco Smoothie from Mi Acai with extra protein
Our MeeTUPS
Our meet-ups happen mostly on the weekends and are surf condition-dependent. Your ambassador will plan sessions during the week as well as on the weekends, where we all share good vibes, waves, and all-round fun. There is nothing better than heading out to good surf with amazing women, catching absolute bombs, and cheering one another on!
